About the event
The fruits and flowers of many plants have gone but there are still things to forage this time of year, but you have to know what to look for.
Lady Danni will lead you through the back edge of the Meadow that had been part of a public golf course before it rewilded, with vistas that most don't expect to find in the middle of South Philadelphia. You'll see a number of edible and medicinal plants and whether you're new to foraging or a seasoned forager, I think you'll be amazed at the diversity of plants available in one place.
We'll meet at 20th and Pattison where there is a marked trail entrance. we give everyone about 10 minutes grace period before moving out. to make the most of the trip. You may want to download PictureThis so you can start identifying plants and saving pictures in your own plants list. it’s a great way to hone your identification skills.
This is a natural wetland and many of the plants that thrive here enjoy wet feet.
